Best Tools Chrome extensions

What the Tools category looks like

Tools is a long tail, not a shortlist: the typical extension here has only a couple of dozen users and more than 9 in 10 sit under a thousand, so category weight alone will never surface a new listing. Yet the ceiling is unusually spread (the ten biggest names hold only about a third of all users in the category), which means there is real room to win a specific job (a cleaner downloader, a faster converter) without first beating a single dominant incumbent. The gap is focus: almost nothing here is both well-rated and recently maintained at once.
