The only job of this extension is to save text links and store them.
It fails to do that.
It's unreliable, bug-ridden, resource-hungry and freezes on every launch for minutes.
And the icing on the cake is it just deleted 3 months of my bookmarks.
The backup silently failed 3 months ago with no warning, and when I noticed it and re-enabled it today, instead of saving my new bookmarks, it irrecoverably deleted the whole 3 months of data.
It's on me not keeping the additional manual backups, but this extension is worse then useless -- it creates a false sense of security and then stabs you in the back.
If you need bookmarks, just use browser ones instead of that vibecoded software.

I LOVE BrainTool so far! I’ve been playing around with it all day, and it really seems like it could replace Tabs Outliner! I’ve been using Tabs Outliner for more than a decade. I recently stopped because it got risky to use my old Google account, and the developer never replied to my request to switch to a new account. I hate it when purchased apps and software must be linked to an unchangeable account! I haven’t tested Premium yet, but hopefully, it will be logical to restore purchases without a permanent link to my Google account - I’m pretty sure it won’t require such an unwavering link.
It can import from multiple types of files including Tabs Outliner, existing bookmarks, and even Org mode files! It can also export to an Org file which is awesome (html too). The shortcuts in the extension function in a way like Org mode too - which I just learned - and it’s seriously so easy, simple, and intuitive to navigate through.
The interface is a more modern version of Tabs Outliner. My absolute favorite is the amount of space available to write notes - it appears in a popup with ample room to write, and you can easily adjust the two panels in the window to show less or more notes. That was a feature I found really lacking in Tabs Outliner - I kept on having to use abbreviations to denote what I needed to. Here, you can literally set the window as big and wide as you want to see however much you want. The panels keep notes and links separated too - so it’s super easy to distinguish and organize. The todo tag is super useful - easy to see and easy to find. The items in the list are based on your existing google tabs and are even colored with the color you choose for the tabs Chrome browser. Super neat idea. The extension is just footsteps away from looking fully polished.
I haven’t tried Premium yet but I’m excited to see how those features stack up! The dev seems to be really responsive and eager for any suggestions so that’s already a great sign. Also a huge plus: "This developer has identified itself as a trader per the definition from the European Union and committed to only offer products or services that comply with EU laws." With all the shenanigans going on nowadays, this is a beautiful thing to read.

I have been looking for a way to manage my myriad browser tabs, and BrainTool looks like it is going to do just that. It let me bring in my active browser session and all of its open tabs. I can now create categories, delete tabs I no longer need but lost track of in the many open windows I had, drag & drop tabs into those categories, and even search open tabs. I like seeing the categories in the tabs bar. So far, so good!

I have been using Tabs Outliner for 10+ years. Finally made the switch to BrainTool and could not be happier. Moved all my session/tab state (1000s of tabs) to BrainTool and organizing them became much easier. I used to dread transferring my state to a new laptop/browser with Tabs Outliner. It was also a headache to maintain/sync several versions I have gathered over the years. With continuous Google Drive syncing, all of this is a breeze with BrainTool. Highly recommended!

I've been struggling for literally years because of the slow decline of Tabs Outliner due to a lack of development. I tried Brain Tool quite a while back, and I just couldn't wrap my head around it. Development continued, and I decided to give it another try with my new work profile at my new job, and WOW! It has helped me tremendously with organizing my perpetually growing projects list. Instead of starting every day with over 50 opened tabs for different projects I'm juggling, I can finally keep a backed-up, tree-structured list of tabs that automatically keeps up with whatever my ADD-riddled brain is working on in the moment. There are certainly things I'd like to see changed or improved in the future by way of options and settings, but this has been an absolute lifesaver for my mental health. Thank you for your dedication and continued development!

This tool has huge potential and it supports researching web immensely. Hence purchased pro license for it. Implementation of tool tip, for the Label and more importantly for description of the items is one feature which seems very crucial. Right now, in the compact view, no way to view the longer descriptions, which are clipped, other than opening it for edit. This is very frustrating. I should be able to hover over the description column and see the full description like Tooltip. It would move this review closer to 5 stars !!

Wow! I'm just amazed. It does a lot of organizing I used to do almost manually.

"As someone with ADHD, my digital life used to be a mess of 100+ open tabs and constant overwhelm. BrainTool has truly changed my life by allowing me to organize my thoughts into logical 'folders' and clear the clutter without losing my work. It provides the external structure my neurodivergent brain needs to stay focused and calm. If you struggle with executive dysfunction, this tool is a game-changer." P.S Adding those supporting apps really gave it wings, no cap!

There's a simplicity to its appearance that belies the power of the beast under the hood. BrainTool delivers. The simple interface actually reveals a flexibility to just plainly, arrange your tabs your way. The idea of reaching any tab on any page and assigning it exactly as you would need to categorize it is very, very useful.

After 7 years of Tabs Outliner I don't understand what's going on. It has messed up the names of all my bookmarks and now creates everything as a bookmark group and automatically pins all of them to bookmark bar. I opened 4 new windows and got 4 new giant pins in browser's bookmarks bar. I'm genuinely afraid it will just delete all my browser's 15 years of bookmarks on a whim if I don't understand the intentions of the author's system and buttons correctly.
I'm disabling the extension for now until Bookmarks experiment is over. This function should never have been added. Please, leave the bookmarks alone.
UPD: It seems that it automatically renames bookmarks with empty names to have their names what their URLs are.
