Highly useful automation tool! Ignore the one-star review, this open-source extension works as advertised. Is "Download Media Tabs" worth my time? Yes, if you enjoy saving time by skipping 3 steps to download a media file (e.g. image, video). If you take pleasure in doing repeatedly the same monotonous steps, then I'm afraid this extension is not for you. Thank you kindly, developer! 5/5 USE CASE EXAMPLE: I want to download an image from the internet. Manual way (how you do it now): 1. Find image on website 2. Click on image via right mouse click, then select "Open image in new tab" 3. New tab with image opens. Right mouse click on the image and then select "Save image as..." 4. OS File explorer opens, select desired folder and click on "Save", the image has been saved. 5. Close media tab from step 3 again. "Download Media Tabs"-way: 1. Find image on website 2. Click on image via right mouse click, then select "Open image in new tab". New tab with image opens. Image is automatically saved in Download folder > Media Tabs > [domain name] folder (configurable). Extension automatically closes media tab again. In this example flow, Using the extension saves the user 3 steps when downloading an image. This quickly adds up over time. In the settings, domains can be included/excluded so that the automation only triggers on websites where you want it to happen. Extension settings for this userflow: 1. Go to extension settings via right mouse click on "Download Media Tabs" extension icon in toolbar in right upper corner > select "Options" 2. Go to tab "Automation" 3. Enable checkbox "Auto-download on new tabs (download single-media tabs as they load)" 4. Enable checkbox "Close the tab after its file is downloaded"

This extension failed to do anything on any media tabs i attempted to test it with, regardless of settings or menu items chosen. I was hoping it worked in the modern browser because it was update not long ago, but I guess not.

great alternative for tab save which isnt working since newest chrome update, cheers mate!
