Study Fish is honestly one of the most frustrating and disappointing apps I’ve ever tried to use. I went into it expecting something at least somewhat helpful for studying. Instead, it immediately felt like a complete waste of time. Nothing about the experience felt polished or well thought out. It’s surprising that something like this was even released.
The first major problem is how unbelievably slow the app is. Every single action takes forever to respond. You tap on something and just sit there waiting for it to load. It completely breaks your concentration every time. A study app should never make focusing harder, but this one does.
It’s not just slow once in a while either. The lag is constant and affects everything you try to do. Moving between sections, clicking buttons, and even basic navigation all feel delayed. It makes the app feel like it can barely function. After a while, it becomes almost unusable.
Because of that, staying productive is basically impossible. You can’t get into any kind of flow when you’re constantly waiting. Studying already requires focus and discipline. This app actively works against both of those things. It turns simple tasks into long, frustrating processes.
The design of the app is another major issue. Nothing about it feels intuitive or easy to understand. It’s like it was made without thinking about actual users. You spend more time figuring out how to use it than actually studying. That defeats the entire purpose.
The way it presents study material is also really unrealistic. It doesn’t match how people actually learn or retain information. Everything feels forced and awkward. Instead of helping concepts make sense, it makes them more confusing. It’s honestly harder to learn using this app than without it.
Even basic features are overcomplicated for no reason. Simple tasks take way too many steps to complete. It feels like the app is trying to do too much while doing nothing well. That just adds to the overall frustration. Studying should be straightforward, not complicated.
Another huge problem is how incredibly boring the app is. There’s absolutely nothing engaging about it. No interesting visuals, no motivating features, nothing. It feels dull the second you open it. That makes it really hard to stay interested.
A study app should at least try to keep you motivated. This one does the exact opposite. It makes studying feel even more like a chore. There’s no sense of progress or achievement. It just feels empty and repetitive.
The overall experience feels very low effort. It’s hard to find anything the app actually does well. Everything from performance to design feels rushed. It gives the impression that it wasn’t fully thought through. That makes it even more frustrating to use.
There are also tons of small issues that add up quickly. Little annoyances keep popping up the more you use it. Each one makes the experience slightly worse. Over time, it becomes overwhelming. It’s just not worth dealing with.
The interface doesn’t help either. It feels cluttered in some places and empty in others. There’s no clear sense of direction when you’re using it. That just adds confusion on top of everything else. It ends up feeling messy and unorganized.
Trying to rely on this app for actual studying is a mistake. It doesn’t support real learning in any meaningful way. Instead of helping you understand material, it distracts you. That completely defeats its purpose. It ends up doing more harm than good.
It’s honestly surprising how ineffective this app is. Something meant to help students ends up doing the opposite. It doesn’t improve studying in any way. If anything, it makes it harder. That’s a huge failure for its purpose.
There are so many better options available. Other apps actually understand what students need. They are faster, easier to use, and more engaging. This one doesn’t come close to competing. It feels outdated and poorly made.

ts was horrid. Do no download got like 10 virus's. This app that blocks other apps is basically a digital hall monitor that takes its job way too seriously. It’s like, “Oh, you want to check the weather? Absolutely not, back to staring at your responsibilities.” The second you actually need something important, it suddenly decides you’ve lost all privileges, like a power-tripping substitute teacher. There’s zero flexibility—once it locks you out, you’re negotiating with your own phone like it’s a hostage situation. Meanwhile, your battery is quietly draining and your patience is evaporating. Instead of boosting productivity, it just turns your phone into a very judgmental brick that thinks it knows better than you.
