Scrivy Book Scout is a well known, free ,easy to use Chrome extension for KDP authors that puts research data directly on Amazon. No account needed. Once installed, every Amazon book search grows badges under each result: BSR, estimated sales/mo, and estimated revenue/mo. A top bar shows the whole niche at a glance — median BSR, median reviews, estimated niche revenue, indie share, and KU share. You can expand any search into a sortable table with price, reviews, indie/KU flags, then copy titles/ASINs or download as CSV. On series pages, Series X-ray shows publishing cadence, review drop-off, and Goodreads ratings. Star any book to track it. While your browser is open it re-checks rank, price and reviews every few hours and sends a daily email digest when something moves. Connect a free AuthorClimb account and all research is saved and clustered by search term into a research library. Pros: truly free, no card, lightweight, privacy-first — nothing leaves your browser until you connect an account, and it caches results. Fastest way to validate or kill a niche. Cons: sales are BSR-based estimates only, tracking isn't 24/7 server-based, and it doesn't show keyword search volume. Ideal for KDP authors validating niches before writing.

I really like Scrivy Book Scout! I have to be honest, when I first saw it, I wasn't really clear on what it was all about, but I decided to give it a chance anyway. I find it really cool that now when I look up books on amazon, I can get the statistics on the books, which is really nice. I also like that it doesn't just analyze books in English, but also in Spanish. I didn't look up any other languages, but I would imagine it would analyze other languages as well. I would say this is a fantastic tool for people doing research because the information could give them a unique aspect that they otherwise would not have, which could undoubtedly add to their perspective. From an author's perspective, I would imagine it would also be very beneficial because they would have a snapshot of how their books are doing and whether they are being bought and enjoyed by the public at large or not, letting them know if they should continue down the path of a particular series, or possibly change course, as well as valuable financial information at a glance and easily accessible for them to analyze.

Really Useful Tool for KDP Research I’ve been using Scrivy Book Scout for KDP research, and I really like how much information it gives you without making the process complicated. Instead of constantly jumping between different tools while researching books on Amazon, I can see useful information like Best Sellers Rank, estimated monthly sales, estimated revenue, and review numbers directly on the search page. One feature I find especially helpful is the niche snapshot. Being able to quickly see median rank, reviews, and estimated revenue gives me a better idea of whether a niche is worth researching further. The sortable table is also convenient because I can compare multiple books at once and export the information to CSV when I want to look at everything more closely. I also like that it works on bestseller and category pages. This makes it easier to research what is currently performing well and compare books without manually collecting all the information myself. The series analysis is another nice addition, especially for checking publishing frequency, ratings, and how reviews change throughout a series. The book tracking feature is useful too. Getting updates when a book’s rank, price, or reviews change can save a lot of time if you’re keeping an eye on your own books or competitors. Overall, Scrivy Book Scout feels straightforward and practical. It puts the information I actually want during KDP research right where I need it and makes the whole research process faster and much more organized.
