Focus mode is genuinely well made. Timer, blocker, the sound, all of it. One thing drives me nuts: if I close the new tab the music stops. I understand why but I keep killing my own session when I tidy up tabs. Let me keep it going or at least warn me.

The "up next" pill has saved me twice this month. Ten minutes before, join button right there, no digging. Only wish is that it followed me around. I don't always have a new tab open when a meeting starts.

Installed it for the photos, fully expected to switch all the other stuff off. Three weeks later I'm using the calendar and the notes more than the app I was paying for. Photos are still the reason I open a tab though.

I really like the idea behind this extension because it makes opening a new tab feel more personal. Seeing your own Google Photos instead of generic backgrounds is a nice touch, and the added Calendar, Tasks, notes, weather, and focus features make the page genuinely useful. The focus mode and breathing feature are also thoughtful additions for staying productive and taking short breaks. I especially appreciate that the photos stay connected to your Google account and are not uploaded to separate servers. Overall, it feels like a well-designed new tab extension that combines personal memories with everyday productivity tools.

Set this up on my mum's laptop with the grandkids' albums on it. She doesn't use a single widget and doesn't need to. She opens the browser and there they are. Best thing I've done for her all year.

Nice. Tasks actually sync both ways with Google Tasks which is more than most of these manage. Only thing missing is I can't put a time on a task, only a date. Would be five stars.

New Tab with Google Photos makes opening a new tab feel a little more personal. I like seeing my own photos instead of generic backgrounds, and having Calendar, Tasks, notes, and weather available without opening extra tabs is convenient. The focus mode is also useful when I need to concentrate, especially with the option to block distracting sites temporarily.

I put my dad's albums in it. He passed in 2023. Some mornings it says "seven years ago today" and I just sit there for a second before I do anything. Did not expect a chrome extension to do that to me. Works great otherwise.

the breathe thing is honestly the only reason this is still installed. i hit it between calls, 10 breaths, my own photos going past. would love if it knew i had 4 min before my next meeting and just offered it
